About

Built in a garage, grown by the community

Coach Tumi Mahlangu started Iron Kasi in 2016 in his mother's garage with two barbells and a group of friends who wanted to get fit before summer. Word spread, the garage filled up, and in 2019 we moved into a converted warehouse on Vilakazi Street.

Today we have five coaches, 400 members and a youth programme that trains teenagers from local schools for free on Saturday mornings.

Show up

Consistency beats talent. We celebrate the people who keep coming back.

Lift each other

Every class ends with a team finisher and a round of fist bumps.

Fair for all

Month-to-month memberships, student rates and no joining fee.
