Pantry, deli and online farm shop
We buy from about forty growers and makers, most of them within an hour of the shop. Every jar on our shelves has a name and a farm behind it. Order by Wednesday for Friday delivery in Stellenbosch, Somerset West and Paarl, or collect from the deli any day of the week.

Our story
Lize-Mari Jacobs and Themba Khoza opened Mielie & Co. in 2019 in an old saddlery on Andringa Street. It began as a table of Lize-Mari's peach chutney at the Saturday market and grew into a deli, a bakery corner and a small online shop.
Today six of us run the counter, the kitchen and the deliveries. We still cook every chutney in the same copper pot, and we still know most of our customers by their coffee order.

We visit every farm we buy from, and we pay on the day we collect.
Yesterday's bread becomes rusks and croutons, and the peels go back to the farm for compost.
Honest food should not be a luxury, so we keep a shelf of staples at cost plus a little.
