Small-group safaris from Hoedspruit

Wake up to the sound of the bushveld.

Open-vehicle game drives, tented camps and walking trails in the Greater Kruger, led by guides who grew up in these valleys.

Guided safaris in Limpopo and the Greater Kruger

Safaris with room to breathe

We never put more than six guests in a vehicle, so everyone has a window seat and time to watch, not only to photograph. Our guides track on foot and by vehicle, know the lions of the Timbavati by name and will stop just as happily for a dung beetle. Every tour includes meals, park fees and transfers from Hoedspruit airport.

About

Born in the bushveld

Mopane Trails was started in 2010 by field guide Given Mathebula and wildlife vet Helen Crous. Given grew up near the Kruger boundary and started guiding at nineteen; Helen spent a decade working with rhino in the Lowveld.

Today we run guided safaris for families, couples and small groups from South Africa and around the world. We work with private reserves in the Greater Kruger and support a rhino monitoring project with part of every booking.

Animals first

We keep our distance, switch off the engine and never chase a sighting.

Share the benefit

Our guides, trackers and camp staff are hired and trained locally.

Honest itineraries

Real driving times and real prices, with no surprise add-ons at the lodge.
