Small-group tutoring for high-school learners

Better marks, and the confidence to keep them.

Maths, Physical Sciences, Accounting and English in groups of eight or fewer, taught by qualified teachers who follow the CAPS and IEB syllabus.

Grade 11 maths class in the Menlo Park centre

After-school tutoring for Grades 8 to 12

We teach the gaps, not only the next chapter

Most learners who struggle in Grade 11 lost the thread somewhere in Grade 9. Every new learner starts with a free one-hour assessment, so we know exactly where the gaps are. Then we teach in small groups, set weekly practice and send parents a short progress report at the end of every month.

About

Founded by two teachers who wanted more time per learner

Bright Minds Academy was started in 2015 by Thabo Maluleke and Elise du Toit, who met teaching maths at a Pretoria high school. Classes of forty left them no time for the learners who needed it most, so they opened a small after-school centre in Menlo Park.

Today we teach more than 300 learners from schools across Pretoria East, Hatfield and Centurion, in person and live online. Our classrooms are quiet, air-conditioned and ten minutes from most schools in the area.

Patience

No question is too small, and nobody is made to feel behind.

Practice

Short, regular homework beats a panic the night before the exam.

Partnership

Parents hear from us every month, not only when there is a problem.
